Meet the CTCC Staff
General Manager, Brad Bourret

Carolina Trace Country Club welcomed Brad Bourret as the General Manager in October of 2006. Brad is a native of Spirit Lake, Iowa who came from Harbour Trees Golf Club, a private 18-hole, Pete Dye design where he was the General Manager for the previous 5 years. Brad began his club management career in 1985 in Kearney, Nebraska as the General Manager of the Kearney Country Club. Brad stayed in Kearney for 11 years until being hired as the General Manager of Hillcrest Golf and Country Club in Batesville, Indiana. Hillcrest is considered one of the premier private clubs in Indiana. Brad earned the coveted “Certified Club Manager Award” in the fall of 2000 in Atlanta. He was involved in the Indiana Section of CMAA and has made significant contributions to CMAA by serving as a Board Member in the Ohio Valley Chapter and also the Aksarben chapter. Brad and his wife Sarah have 3 children, Bryan, Bo and Shannon.
Assistant Manager, Jenny Allred

Jenny has been working at Carolina Trace Country Club for 20 years. She grew up in the restaurant industry learning the finer details of entertaining. Among the many areas of Carolina Trace that Jenny is involved in, she leads a staff in food and beverage, decorating and operations of banquets, seminars, weddings, dances, balls, parties and indoor and outdoor golf outings. Jenny orchestrates an average of ten parties a week at the Clubhouse and has literally planned thousands of events. She also manages a team that supports our Grille Room, Trophy Room and Main Dining room. Jenny enjoys the Club's close-knit family and the wonderful members. As a native of North Carolina, Jenny is highly involved in her community. She attends Swann Station Baptist Church and volunteers at Christian United Outreach Center. Jenny has two wonderful sons and four grandchildren.
Executive Chef, Martin Shapter

Marty has worked for Carolina Trace Country Club for 12 years as the Executive Chef. He received his culinary degree from Sullivan County College in Loch-Sheldrake, New York. Marty gained valuable experience in working at North Ridge Country Club in Raleigh and Croasdaile Country Club in Durham. He is originally from New York City, but calls North Carolina his home now. Marty and his wonderful wife,Teresa, have two children, Jeffrey and Samantha. Marty enjoys working at CTCC because our members are incredibly friendly and employment actually feels more like an extension of home-life. In addition, he appreciates working with colleagues who not just work with you, but who work together as a team to make events run smoothly.
Golf Course Superintendent, Tim Hart

Tim Hart has worked at Carolina Trace Country Club for 12 years. Tim is the current President of the Triangle Turfgrass Association and a Board Member with Turfgrass Council of North Carolina. Tim loves his job and our golf courses, but he credits the staff and members with making Carolina Trace such a special place. Tim started his career at the Resorts of Pinehurst. He then accepted an advanced opportunity and moved to Myers Park Country Club in Charlotte. While working at Myers Park, he became the Club's Spray Technician. The direction at Myers Park led Tim to North Carolina State University specializing in Turfgrass Management. Tim worked at North Ridge Country Club in Raleigh for three years as a second assistant before coming to Carolina Trace. Although Tim is devoted to grass, his true joy comes with his family. His wife, Hope is a research scientist for a Biotech company in the Research Triangle Park. They have two boys, Cooper is 3 years old and Jake is 2 years old. You may see Cooper and Jake on the weekends at Trace, as they love to ride on the golf carts and drop golf balls in the holes. Tim claims his putting has never been better because if he misses the putt, one of the boys will put it in the hole for him!
Head Golf Professional, Michael B. Krick

Mike became Carolina Trace Country Club’s Head Golf Professional in the fall of 1998. Mike grew up enjoying the game of golf in Pennsylvania, where his father was the Head Golf Professional at Williamsport Country Club. In addition to Mike’s father, Mike has three other relatives who are all golf professionals. Mike has worked at private, semi private and resort clubs in Virginia, Connecticut, Pennsylvania, Florida and now resides here at Carolina Trace. Mike received a Bachelor of Science degree with a concentration in Professional Golf Management from Methodist College in Fayetteville, NC in 1992. He earned his Class A certification from the PGA of America in 1995. Mike has also taught at the Pace-Sheftic Golf Schools. Mike is an avid sports fan with loyalties to the New York Yankees and Pittsburgh Steelers. Mike and his lovely wife Jill, a Cleveland Browns fan, have twin girls, Katelyn and Jordan.

Sara has worked in Michigan, Chicago, New York, London and Scotland with some of the world’s best known companies. Her diverse client engagements with Fortune 500 companies on marketing and business development initiatives have allowed her to explore many layers of marketing and advertising. Her passion for marketing began in a small business environment managing the marketing and operations of the Midwest division of several accounting and tax firms. She has also worked as a marketing consultant in the retail industry and behind the scenes on a public relations effort on many political campaigns. Ready for another challenge and eager to explore the many adventures North Carolina offers, Sara has been with CTCC since November of 2006. Sara received a Bachelor of Arts from Roosevelt University, a private university in Chicago, Illinois. Special highlights include induction into the Franklin Honor Society named in honor of FDR, the Green Key Society, the recipient of the Bronze R. Award, nominated for the Woman of Influence award, selected as a Newberry Scholar where she studied at the Newberry Library, the University of Chicago, Northwestern University and Columbia College, and in college, elected as Student Body President and President of the Student Government Association. Sara is involved with the Lee County Leadership Program and the Sanford Chamber of Commerce Ambassadors. If you are interested in joining our Club, please contact Sara.
Office Manager & Director of Membership, Sue Smith

Sue has worked for Carolina Trace Country Club for over 10 years and has been a major link in membership communications. Sue is the Office Manager and Membership Director, which also includes Accounts Receivable. For several years, Sue has served as the Club’s newsletter editor, Trace Talks. She has held many other positions at the Clubhouse office including Payroll Administration and Accounts Payable, and is considered by the members as the jack-of-all-trades. Born and raised in Pennsylvania, her family moved to North Carolina in 1997. Sue is the proud parent of two teenage children, an 18 year old son and 16 year old daughter. Sue has also lived in Georgia and West Virginia, but considers North Carolina her home. Despite her loyalty to the Pittsburgh Steelers, Sue enjoys the Carolina lifestyle and climate and could never imagine moving back up north.

Jan Welling joined Carolina Trace Country Club as the Controller in September of 2007. Jan grew up and resided in Northern Ohio until 2005 when she opted to escape the winter weather. Although Jan is new to the country club industry, she has been in Accounting and Human Resources in the manufacturing industry for the past 17 years. Jan currently resides in Pinehurst with her significant other, Frank, who has introduced her to the game of golf. Jan’s son, Charles, a Sergeant in the Army is her “pride and joy”. Jan enjoys traveling, reading and is a die hard Cleveland Browns and Indians fan. Jan is looking forward to the excitement of the country club industry and meeting the members of Carolina Trace CC.
Facilities Maintenance, Bruce Parsons

Bruce has worked at Carolina Trace Country Club for 4 years. He is responsible for the maintenance of the clubhouse, all club buildings and oversees the housekeeping staff. He and his wife Karen are originally from upstate New York (Buffalo area) and are the proud parents of a new baby boy, Aaron Michael. They are members of Tramway Baptist Church but spend most Sundays on the road serving God. Bruce is a licensed and ordained evangelist and his wife sings praise music. Bruce obtained his degree in Biblical Studies from Andersonville Theological Seminary in Camilla, Georgia and serves as the president of Shepherd’s Grace Ministries. When he’s not on the road preaching, growing the ministry, working, or trying to raise a 4-month-old baby, he enjoys fishing or just a quiet night at home watching football, GO BILLS!
